How to Become a Pinterest Virtual Assistant with Little to No Experience
Most people who own a blog, business or website know how important Pinterest can be for their business when it comes to gaining more traffic, engagement, and exposure. However, those who use Pinterest for personal use or fun may not understand what an important and impactful tool Pinterest is for businesses. Start using Pinterest on a daily basis and implement just a few tasks and you will see what I’m talking about.
Pinterest is a game changer in so many ways. Luckily, businesses have caught on to this thus creating high demand and need for Pinterest Virtual Assistants. If you’re looking for ways to earn extra income or want to start working from home making a full-time income then becoming a Pinterest virtual assistant may be just for you.
So exactly what is a Pinterest virtual assistant? A Pinterest virtual assistant is someone that helps clients start, grow, and/or manage their Pinterest account.
The income potential can be high depending on such factors as experience, how many clients you feel comfortable taking on, what types of services you offer, and what the client is looking for. However, just to give you an ideal, Pinterest Vas are averaging anywhere from $15 to $40 an hour depending on the situation. Some may make more if they’ve been doing it a while and offer certain packages.
If you don’t quite feel comfortable offering all the services that can come with being a Pinterest VA, then consider specializing in a niche, or one component of Pinterest.
Here are some of them:
-Branding: this involves creating layouts and designs for your client’s brand and making it a consistent part of their Pinterest boards and covers
-Pin Creation: this one is self-explanatory as it involves strictly creating pins for your client. My favorite tool for creating pin graphics is Canva. You can sign up for their free account or Pro. I recommend Pro because they offer so many more features.
-Scheduling: you will definitely want to use Tailwind for your Pinterest scheduling needs. using Tailwind is so much easier than manually pinning and is a huge time saver. your reach will go so much further when it comes to others seeing your pins. getting as many eyes on your pins is what you want. after using Tailwind I don’t think I can ever go back to manual pinning. plus Tailwind is not just a pins scheduler. It offers analytics, tribes, and much, much more.
-Account Set Up: many clients don’t have time to set up their account or don’t want to take the time to learn how to set up an effective Pinterest account. you can set up their account, enable rich pins, make sure they have a Pinterest business account, make sure their profile is SEO enhanced, and create a main board that displays all their work or blog posts. you may also want to take it a step further and offer to create their boards and pin a certain amount of pins to each one. for instance your package may include setting up their account, creating 10 boards, and pinning 20 pins to each board for starters.
-SEO: this is one of the most important aspects of Pinterest. if your group boards, profile, and pins are not SEO enhanced then your pins will not be seen by as many people as it could. remember Pinterest is like a search engine so you want to do your keyword and key phrase homework to see what others are searching for and then make sure you use those keywords and terms for your boards and pins in the descriptions and titles.
-Other: if you do a good job your client may want to hire you for other tasks such as managing their other social media accounts. who knows where this can lead. you may find you love working on Pinterest so much that you want to branch out and become a social media manager. just keep an open mind, do good work, keep learning, and see where it takes you
Now that you know what a Pinterest VA does you can decide if doing all components of Pinterest Management is for you, or if you want to just offer and focus on one aspect of it and then master that particular specialization and become an expert in it!
Either way you can make money! Businesses and clients just don’t have the time to learn and master Pinterest. That’s where you come in! The best part is that you don’t have to be an expert and know a lot about Pinterest to get started, especially if you only focus on one component of it. However, the beauty of Pinterest is that once you start using it you will automatically start learning a lot and become knowledgeable. Add a few learning materials and you are set!
Regardless of which path you choose, you should at least have a good foundation of what a Pinterest Virtual Assistant is and does, as well as the business aspects of it such as package offers, client contracts, etc.
Another tool you will want to get besides Tailwind (for scheduling pins and so much more) is Pin Inspector. See above where SEO is discussed. SEO is extremely important to the success of your pins! With Pin Inspector you can search by keyword or topic. It also allows you to analyze competitor’s pins and boards. If you want to know what’s trending on Pinterest at the moment and center your pins around that (provided you they are relevant to your niche) then Pin Inspector will help you do that as well. And last but certainly not least, you can find top primary and secondary keywords! Pin Inspector is a SEO dream for Pinterest.
Now before you start feeling overwhelmed and start thinking about how you want to get started now but will have to learn and research so much to get started think again!
